Academics
Academics are very important to any high school student looking into continuing their education in college. As of right now, January 5, 2012, I have a 3.78 GPA and a ACT score of a 22. I am also ranked 280 out of almost 2,100 students. I was top 10 percent of my freshman and sophomore class. I received two TSSAA awards; TSSAA Student-Athlete Award of Merit (freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior years) and TSSAA Academic Excellence (freshman, sophomore, and junior years). Dyer County High School also awards athletes with excellent academics. I received DCHS cheerleading academic awards my freshman and sophomore years. During my freshman and sophmore years of high school, I was a canidate for who's who among american high school students.
Athletics
I believe that athletics help keep students are track in and outside of the educational process. I have been a part of Dyer County High School’s varsity football cheerleading team for four years, in which I have received many different honors and awards. I have received Outstanding Leadership at cheer camp, Leadership award among our football cheerleading team, and Cheerleading spirit award. I was honored to be Cheerleading Captain my junior and senior year. I was chosen by my freshman, sophomore, and junior class to represent them in football homecoming and by my senior class as homecoming queen. The 2013 senior class also nominated me as “Most School Spirit.” I have also been a part of the Dyer County Dance team for two years, where I have received five superior dance ribbons.
Community Service
I have also participated in community service opportunities. I have been a part of the Leo club, National Honor Society, Pep club, and Gridiron Girls. Some of my specific activities include: Dyer County High School fall festival, Lions Club Organizational meetings, Lions Club Jamma Fest Fight, Little Choctaws after-school cheer and dance program, Chick-Fil-A cow at relay for life, Chick-Fil-A cow for basketball and football games, Lions Club Breakfast with Santa, Sorghum Valley clean up and set up, and adopt an angel through Leo club.
