ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have always tried my hardest to achieve as high as i can in academics since elementary school. I have received trophies for receiving all a's for some years. Also, i have won the William Sweet award just last year that recognizes the students that maintain a's throughout the year. I am currently trying to join out school's honor society. I also began taking AP Calculus and Honors Anatomy and Physiology this school year and have maintained an A in the classes. My wish is to get into Austin Peay University next fall and further my knowledge while pursuing a degree in psychology and starting my career. i took the ACT and scored a 23.
Arts
I started out learning to play the viola when i was in the fifth grade. Also, i started out singing in our chorus when i was in the fourth and fifth grade. After moving to Colonial Middle School, i joined their CAPA choir program. After that, i continued my singing performances at Overton High School where i am now currently a singer. I am also in our Chamber Singers. Last November i performed with a small group at the Peabody Hotel. We were back up singers for a man that was a part of the Broadway performance of the Lion King. Last year i was chosen as one of the few students that get chosen out of the south to be in the All-West performance group.
Government
Last year, there was a school wide vote and i was chosen to be our school's secretary in our student government program. I wanted to join the club because i knew that they play an extensive role in making things in our school fun and overall a better place to be. I take my duties seriously and make sure i am prompt and ready at each meeting that we schedule. We plan all activities including homecoming. We have two teachers that assist us but they try their hardest to step back so that we as students can display how we can take on many responsibilities and get things done in a timely fashion.
