Academics
As a high school senior I am in the top five of my class, holding a GPA above 4.0. I have taken honors sciences, social sciences, languages (foreign and domestic), and mathematics when available as well as advanced placement United States History (receiving a 5 on the AP test). I have always had a passion for learning and have never received below a B- as an averaged grade on a report card or a final grade in a class. On the SAT, my highest score was a 2030: 700 in writing, 670 in critical reading, and 660 in mathematics. In regards to further education, I will be taking classes at Cecil College as a part of senior waiver and I was accepted to and will be attending the George Washington University.
Community Service
I have participated in Service Learning at my high school, Bohemia Manor High School, for the past two years under the supervision of Paul Bockius in the adjacent middle school. For this class I assist him and his students in anything they may need: running copies, grading papers, working with children, etc. Through this experience I have made many memories and learned a lot. After I had begun doing Service Learning, I also started working the the annual charities Baker's does; over the past two years I have donated my time and tips to help the No Kid Hungry foundation and the victims of Hurricane Sandy. These actions along with my stellar academics allowed me to become a member of the National Honor Society in November 2012. The service skills I've learned are things I will carry forever.
Work
I began my first job in January of 2011 at Baker's Restaurant in Elkton, Maryland as a bus person. Two years later, I am still employed there as a bus person and hostess. I am now the senior busser and have trained all of the other bus people that are below me; as a hostess I have also trained and worked with a few fellow employees. Through my employment at Baker's, I have made many friendships with coworkers and customers alike. I enjoy my position not only because of the fun and social interactions but also because of the valuable experience as part of the American work force. Having a long-term career has made me realize the value of earning one's own money and the confidence it brings.
