I have a GPA of 3.86 and I am number thirty-three in a class of one hundred ninety three. I have been a member of the National English Honor Society and BETA Club since my sophomore year. I have taken numerous Honors classes, such as U.S History, Chemistry, Spanish III, American Government, Biology, and others. In June of last year, I was selected to be a Junior Marshall during the graduation ceremony due to the fact that I was in the top ten percent of my graduating class.
Arts
I have excelled in art as well. After my completion of the eighth grade, I was accepted into the prestigious art school, Savannah Arts Academy. By the end of my senior year, I will have taken a total of ten art classes: AP Art History, Paint I, AP 2-D Design, AP Studio, Introduction to Graphics & Design, Draw II, Sculpture, Draw I, Comprehensive II, and Comprehensive I. Last year in 2012, I received an AP Studio score of 5 for my portfolio. I am currently a member of the National Art Honor Society and have been since my induction in my sophomore year. I have competed in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, where I received an Honorable Mention and the Armstrong Congressional Gallery, where I also received three Honorable Mentions.
Community Service
Since June of 2009 I have volunteered with the Savannah branch of Senior Citizens Inc., where I delivered Meals-on-Wheels to the elderly and disabled. Every summer, three days of every week ( with the exception being holidays) ,I have spent approximately an hour counting the meals, sorting the hot trays from the frozen ones, and delivering them to their respective recipients. I completed this community service in two assisted living apartments: Williams Court Apartments and Stillwell Towers. Williams Court possessed recipients over the span of eight floors and Stillwell had recipients over eighteen floors. Each summer I completed a minimum of thirty hours doing my community service.
