ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I'm valedictorian of my class, and have been for...well, my entire schooling career. I was awarded the "Principal's Award" at the conclusion of eighth grade for possessing the highest average of my class throughout middle school. I currently maintain approximately a 4.25 GPA and am a member of the National Honor Society. I've made a 224 on my PSAT, a 2330 on my SAT, and a perfect score of 36 on my ACT (April of sophomore year), making me a Star Student to come next year. I've earned various "Highest Average" awards and continue to do so. At the end of this year, I'll have taken 2 honors and 4 AP courses in my high school career, with 3 more AP courses to come senior year.
Arts
I'm an active member of the SHS Band playing percussion. I was Drum Major of the marching band my junior year. I made the MS Lions' All-State Band on Mallet Percussion my 8th and 9th grade years, and then on Mallet Percussion, Tenor Drums, and Snare Drum my 10th and 11th grade years (1st, 1st, 5th and 1st, 1st, 3rd, respective to years and chairs). I'm currently participating in the Wind Ensemble, Indoor Percussion, and Indoor Winter Guard. I'm also a member of the SHS Chamber Choir and am a member of Thespian Troupe 1226. My most notable accomplishment on stage thus far is playing the male lead, William Barfeé, in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, for which I was awarded "Best Actor in a Musical."
Government
I'm the clerk of the Southaven Mayor's Youth Council, an organization with which I do various community service projects and attend state-wide leadership summits. I'm a member of the Superintendent's Youth Leadership Council, a council made up of 20 juniors & seniors from all of Desoto County.. I'm also an active member of the SHS Student Council, where I have held various positions: 7th grade- Representative, 8th grade- Technology Representative, 9th grade- Executive Representative, 10th grade- Executive Representative and Executive Secretary, 11th grade- Executive Vice President, after which I will assume the position of Executive President my senior year. I was awarded the Student Council award "Most School Spirited" my sophomore year.
