ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I am in the top 10% of my graduating class, with a 5.27 weighted GPA. I am currently an active member in the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National English Honor Society, National Science Honor Society, Rho Kappa National History Honor Society, National Society for High School Scholars and Florida Law Honor Society. I am co-Captain of my school's WorldQuest Academic Team (focusing on history, politics, and current events), which won 3rd place in last year's regional competition. I am a National Merit Commended Scholar, and have also received the AP Scholar Award for success on my AP exams. I have remained on the honor roll at my school for the entire duration of my high school years.
Government
I am involved in my school's Pre-Law Program, taking classes in criminal, business, constitutional, and juvenile law, trial advocacy, and evidence . I have served as the Vice President of the Pre-Law Society, which focuses on community service and career engagement in the legal field, and am the current Director of Fundraising. I have been President of the Model United Nations Club for two years, and attended national conferences. I am the Captain of both the Mock Trial and Moot Court teams, having founded the moot court team . In Mock Trial, I have won the Best Attorney Award at a national competition, as well as the county championship, and state professionalism award. In Moot Court, my appellate brief won first place in the state of Florida. I have volunteered for Obama For America.
Community Service
I have served as the chair of a school-wide homework pass sale and candy gram drive to support the Children's Emergency Fund, which helps provide care and legal assistance to children in need. I am happy to say we raised over $1200 this year. Additionally, I spent a month and a half as a volunteer legal intern at the Legal Aid Society, assisting the staff attorneys who fight for the rights of underrepresented and indignant children. I have helped raise funds in a school fundraiser for the Innocence Project of Florida. I have volunteered at Exceptionalities Day Program for three years, caring for the mentally disabled . I also have volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Fort Lauderdale, Kidstown Learning Center, American Youth Soccer Organization, and Kids Helping Kids of America.
