ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I do very well in school. I enjoy all subjects. I have been on the high school academic team for seven years. I have competed in scholastic meets at several colleges. I take advanced placement classes in math. I have made a 24 on the ACT. I have a 4.2 GPA and will graduate as Valedictorian. I have been nominated as the Ada Elks Lodge and Ada Lions Club student of the month. I have also been chosen to serve on the Ada Vision Bank student Board of Directors. I plan on attending East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma to major in Early Childhood Education and then a master’s degree in math specialist/library media specialist. My goal is to provide a solid education for young students and inspire them to become productive members of our community.
Athletics
After eight grade, I dropped softball and basketball to focus on my main sport- shotgun sports. I have been shooting since I was eleven years old, both 4-H and professionally. I have served as the Pontotoc County Shooting Sports President for nearly five years. The summer before freshman year, I went to the Junior World Skeet Championship in Stockton, California, where I medaled in four of the seven events. I am currently in seventh place in the state of Oklahoma trying to make the Oklahoma National Shotgun team. Shotgun Sports has always been my passion. It is something I enjoy doing with my father and grandfather. I also love that this is a sport that I can compete in when I’m eighty years old.
Community Service
I volunteer my time to help my local volunteer fire department, Vanoss Alumni, and HCE Club because of their commitment and dedication to the many people of our community. I take pride in helping those that unselfishly make a difference to so many. A very good friend of mine is a volunteer fire fighter for the local fire department. I volunteer at the fire department dinner, serving food and helping with the auction. I volunteer a day of summer to help with the Vanoss Alumni Dinner. The alumni help our school and community in more ways than one. I also volunteer my time at the HCE Club Christmas Dinner, helping people sign in or serving food. This is a way to meet the people in my community and say thank you for all they have done.
