ATTRIBUTES
Arts
When it comes to art, dancing is my passion. I have been dancing for ten years; training in the styles of ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, hip hop, tap, and kick. Some of my greatest achievements in dance have been during my four years on my school’s dance team. Some of which include receiving multiple solos, being the only member to make it on the Thunderbird All Star Team at dance camp, making the UDA All American Team, and being invited as a team to San Diego to dance in the 2012 Holiday Bowl half time show and Big Bay Balloon Parade. As a result of my hard work throughout the years I am a second year captain. Outside of the team I have auditioned, resulting in dancing in the opening act of the Rockette’s Christmas Spectacular, and receiving the role of Reed Princess the Nutracker.
Academics
In my class of 459 students, I am ranked in the top twelve percent. I’ve worked very hard and attempt to challenge myself frequently. Until AP classes were available to me, I took every honors level class accessible, which included English, science, and social studies. When I was a junior, I took four AP classes which included Language and Composition, Psychology, Governments, and Microeconomics. This year I am enrolled in two AP classes, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Environmental Science. With my hard work in high school came an award my junior year where I received the Pacific Conference Scholar Award which is an academic award given to those who participate heavily in Pacific Conference activities and achieve academic excellence, as well as being invited and inducted into NHS.
Other Achievements
I am a natural born leader. My instinct is always to take the lead in order to achieve the best result possible. My most recognized leadership achievements have been my being selected as Dance Team Captain two years in a row, Dance Team Representative in ASB, Renaissance Leader, Vik Crew Leader, and Yearbook editor. I was also elected Senior Vice-President my senior year. Leadership is a great passion of mine. My goal was to be able to be involved in as many leadership programs as possible so I may share my skills and ideas with others to better myself and the people affected by my actions as a leader. My greatest experience as a leader has been being the dance team captain. I am able to lead the girls and help them improve as dancers and people, which is something I take much pride in.
