ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have a weighted GPA of 3.7 and am a scholar athlete. I have been on the Principals Honor roll during 9, 10, 11, and 12 grade. I also have received the Scholar Athlete award for four years. I am a member of the California Scholarship Federation which honors students for both excellent grades and school service. I received an Academic Letter and Academic Pin for good grades during my 10th-12th grade years. In addition, I received the Presidential Academic Award for grades and service. I practice every single day of the year (except Sundays) for track and cross country, yet have worked to keep up my grades and be on the Principals Honor Roll each grading period.
Athletics
I have been a member of both the Varsity Girls Cross Country and Track teams for the past four years and am currently captain of both teams. I was awarded the school wide athletic MVP for the female student for the past four years and was also team MVP for 11th and 12th grades. I am the first girl from Redondo to become the Individual Bay League Champion. I placed sixth place at the California State Championships this year in cross country, and was also one of the 40 girls in the nation that was a Footlocker Cross Country National Finalist. One of the highlights in track a member of the State and National 4 x 1600 meter relay team during my junior year. For my accomplishments in both cross country and track I was awarded the prestigious Redondo Cross Country Legacy Award.
Arts
Music is very important to me and I have been involved in musical theatre since grade 6th. I have had the lead roll in community theatre in plays such as "Annie" and "Your're a Good Man Charlie Brown. Since participation in athletics for our nationally ranked team is so time consuming, I have struggled to continue to participate as much as I would like in theatre. I am lucky though, to be a member of our school Advanced Choir which performs at many local functions. I also play the guitar and compose duets with another girl on my team.
