ATTRIBUTES
Faith
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have a deep and abiding testimony of Son of God and His divine organization. The people around me involved in this church have developed selfless and serving characteristics that define our small community. I was born into this church, and have grown up learning it's doctrines. I have been in multiple presidencies and love serving my peers as I develop friendships and help them to overcome their obstacles. I have learned how a leader can be such a powerful influence one's future and one's decisions. I have attended extensive summer camps "Especially For Youth" and will graduate in May from a four year seminary. Through which I have indeed learned that my God is my rock. And through Him, all things are possible.
Community Service
I am the Mayor of our Youth City Council. This organization has given me amazing opportunities to develop a love and understanding for how our small community- just over 3,000 people in 2010- can pull together and make the impossible happen. Even our council of 15 kids can do so much good. In my church, we frequently contribute to the humanitarian center making things, sewing quilts, baby blankets, and clothes. I am an attendant to Miss Manti, in our city royalty. I work really hard to fulfill my platform. With a basis on music, I am currently the head of a sheet music drive at the library where we are making sheet music and practice books for all levels and instruments available to the public for free. I am also interning at the local elementary school 5 days a week. I love my community.
Arts
I've taken piano lessons for 9 years, sometimes this was a seemingly pointless process. Piano came very easily to my older brother and people have always asked if I am going to be as good as him. And I've had to come to grips with the fact that I will not. Nonetheless, I am the Music Sterling Scholar at my High School. I am a member of the Show Choir and have been to Honor Choir for two years. I've taken voice lessons for 4 years. I am currently the Yearbook Editor in Chief. I am the Student Body Historian, I own a photography business. I've 3 beginning piano students. I teach music at the elementary school 2 days a week. I've performed in 3 musicals. I was vice-president of a local Senior Musical Theater Company. I've found that being artistic comes to me in more ways than one.
