ATTRIBUTES
Academics
As a Junior in high school, I have achieved Headmaster's List status (GPA of 93) each semester, as well as the honor of Best of the Best (90 and above in every class) both my Freshman and Sophomore years. I take all honors and advanced classes including one AP class my Sophomore year, two AP classes my Junior year and will be scheduled for four AP classes in my Senior year. I have been accepted into the Walton County Leadership program for 2013. I have been inducted in the Beta Club and National Honor Society.
Athletics
I am a starting member of our Varsity soccer team, having lettered my 8th, 9th and 10th grade years thus far. I am on a club/travel soccer team year round, which advanced to the Regional President's Cup tournament last year. I have overcome some obstacles after breaking my nose my 9th grade year. I was forced to not play club soccer for part of the season, so I ran cross country in order to stay in shape during that period of time. I then had to change clubs, going to a new club where I knew no one and basically starting over. It was a trying experience but one that forced me out of my comfort zone.
Community Service
My community service is something I enjoy very much. I participate in Buddy Break through Nathaniel's Hope, which is a program that gives families of disabled children a night off once a month. It pairs a volunteer with a disabled VIP or one of their siblings. As part of this program, I also started Baskets for Buddies where on a rotating basis one family is given a gift basket each month consisting of gift cards, books, toys, etc. For the last 3 years, I have served as a volunteer summer counselor for a church camp, which is the highlight of my summer. I am on the church youth leadership team. I went on a mission trip to Mexico through Casas por Cristo to build a home. I serve as a Wee Worship teacher for church. I volunteer as a study buddy at school.
