ATTRIBUTES
Academics
From the start of my school career onward until now, my senior year of high school, I have excelled in all of my subjects. In high school I have always taken honors and AP courses, I am recognized semesterly in a top ten G.P.A. assesmbly, and have even taken a college course over summer to get ahead and test my academic skill. Obtaining a B+ in my U.S. History course at UC Riverside really showed that I have what it takes to make it after high school. Grades have always been a constant priority and it continually pays off, as this past fall semester I obtained my highest G.P.A. yet, a 4.6 with three AP courses.
Government
From Elementary school, to middle school, and three of my high school years I have held various positions in my school's A.S.B. organizations. During my Sophomore and Junior year I was elected to be my classes Treasurer, and currently as a Senior I serve as A.S.B. vice-president. In just this past fall semester, I have managed my school's annual homecoming parade which entailed the city's authorization and shutdown of two city streets; the parade featured school club built floats and also had members of the school board and city chamber of commerence. I look forward to this final semester of high school where I am in charge of a talent show and Graduation Class Ring Ceremony.
Other Achievements
In 2010 after participating in the Boy Scout of America's programs for eight years, I received my Eagle Scout rank. Three years later I continue to be an active member of Troop 40, giving back and helping the new kids that continue to join boy scouts. In my family I am proud to say that there are four Eagle Scouts; my grand father, dad, uncle, and myself. I never met my grandpa, but scouting and the Eagle rank are two things we have in common, it is so much more than the status that it itself carries; to me the rank is one of the soul connections to my past, and to my grand father. I hope I can continue the Collins family eagle scout tree with my own son one day, because it would be my way of saying thank you to my past ancestors.
