Academics
I have always loved pushing myself to achieve the best grades possible. In elementary and middle school, I didn't receive one grade lower than an A! Intelligence doesn't come naturally for me and I really have to work for every grade I received, so it's a huge accomplishment for me. In high school, I am ranked 7th in my class out of 325 kids. I'm proud of myself for continuing my hard work academically throughout my entire life so far. This past summer, I was accepted into a prestigious summer program at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH. I spent 5 weeks of the summer studying Ancient Greece, while also taking a writing workshop class. I am excited to continue working hard in college to see how far my studies will get me in life.
Community Service
Helping others has always been something I have enjoyed. I have truly loved every community service project and event I have participated in. Last year, as a junior, I received a community service award at my school for the most hours logged in my entire class. Many of those hours were completed through the Leadership Team. I am president of this club and have been dedicated to it since sophomore year. The goal of the club is to help out current or future students of my school. I helped lead tours on the 8th grade step up days, volunteered my last day of summer to help out the freshman transition to high school on their first day, and also helped new students get accustomed to my school.
Other Achievements
Another achievement that I am really proud of is my dedication to my school's Highway Safety Team. During my junior year, a small group of students and I started the group because we were all very passionate about safe driving and wished to instill our passion into our community. Last year our team had the opportunity to present our hard work to an audience of about 150 drivers education teachers, police officers, and highway safety officials from New Hampshire. We were shocked afterwards when we received the highest ratings of the day, and were praised by many of the adults. This year, I took over the responsibility of creating a presentation for my school. I created a PowerPoint about safe driving and with two other team members, presented it to over 1200 students and faculty members.
