ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Some of my academic achievements include: continually being on the honor roll, taking AP courses for three years, scoring a 29 on the ACT, and having an average GPA of 3.67. Academic achievement is important to me because it demonstrates all the hard work, determination, and dedication that comes with being a full-time student. I take pride in how I perform academically and will not accept less than the best from myself. Through my academic achievements, I was selected as a candidate and accepted into the National Honor Society group at my high school. Also, my academic achievements during the seasons where I participate in sports have granted me awards as well. My academic achievements have given me new opportunities and granted me the ability to be the best person I can be.
Community Service
Throughout my adolescent life, I have participated in many community service projects and volunteer opportunities. This includes: making baby blankets for a women's shelter, making stuffed animals for children being removed from broken homes, volunteering as a Sunday School teacher for preschool aged children, participating in a missions trip to Laporte, MN and serving the local community there, participating in the coffee ministry at my church, and leading a group at the Vacation Bible School at my church. I like to help and serve others in any way possible. I do my best to help people as much as I am able to. By participating in volunteer work I feel that I am making the world a better place for generations to come.
Athletics
To say that athletics are a small part of my life would be an understatement. I have been in gymnastics for seven years and on the track and field team at my school for five years. Although I may not be the best at gymnastics, I give it my all at practice and am completely dedicated to the sport. My freshman year of high school, I was voted "Most Improved" by my teammates. This award is meant to recognize someone who is set on improving themselves for personal and team benefit. In the spring of 2012, I was voted as a captain for the gymnastics team. I would have never thought I would be a captain and was extremely humbled and honored to be voted as one. In track and field, I throw shot put and discus. I love the self-discipline and that goes into it. I have also lettered in both sports.
