ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have been on the Distinguished Honor Roll in every marking period. I receive A grades or higher for every class. I am a class leader, always willing to participate and contribute to class conversations. I am always prepared for class, have all the homework done, and I am always an attentive listener in class. Inside and out of school, I am a hardworking student. On my SATs, I received a score of 2340. I have a 4.0 GPA unweighted, and 4.6574 weighted GPA. I take as many Honors and AP classes that our school has to offer, challenging myself by taking 5 APs my senior year. I have completed 4 AP courses, scoring 4s or 5s on the AP tests. I have also completed 9 honors classes. I am also an AP Scholar with Honor.
Community Service
I have been volunteering for four years at the Morristown Medical Center. I direct the junior volunteers, and assist doctors and nurses by delivering blood bags and medical records. I volunteer at our local senior citizen home by accompanying them after school, and I do the same our our local special education school. I am a member of the Red Cross Youth Council, which is an organization that does fundraising for medical purposes for the Red Cross. I am also a volunteer at the local soup kitchen, cooking there during holidays for the homeless people. I am also a member of the Environmental Club, part of the committee that hosts the monthly cleanups around the school and in our local park.
Athletics
I have been running cross country since sixth grade. In high school, I have been on the varsity team since freshman year. Senior year, I am captain of the team, organizing the banquet and all the team-bonding activities. I received my varsity letter for four years, along with a plaque, and an award each year for Outstanding Performance. I have been a varsity runner on the Winter Track and Spring Track Teams as well. I have won medals for gold and silver for high jump and hurdling at the Freshman/Sophomore Championships. At school, I was awarded the Presidential Sports Award, a very selective award given to only a few people in the grade.
