Academics

I'm a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Delta Epsilon Chapter Xinos/Kudos Youth Guidance Group.

This organization positively impacts the community through its initiatives to promote the importance of academics, leadership training and community involvement . It also provides scholarships through to the youth in this group so that can get an higher education. I was inspired by the opportunity to help others and grow by way of interacting with like-minded youths. My experiences with this organization have honed my leadership abilities as well as my ability to interact with people from different walks of life. My participation has positively contributed to the organization by being a role model to the younger members and serving as Treasurer..

Athletics

I am a high school athlete, who plays basketball. With my position as a point guard, I would have to be vocal and be the leader of the team. I was a soft spoken person, who was nervous in front of a large crowd. I then realized that if I wanted to keep my position, I would have to show leadership characteristics. So I gained the leadership skills, overcame my personal challenges, and too.

My high school basketball coach is a person in my life who has influenced and inspired me. He is keeping me on track and showing me the right way to accomplish that. He is a great teacher and leader that has been a successful coach. He also influences his team as well as others to stay focus and do the right thing in life. k on the leadership role.

Community Service

My volunteering at North Texas Food Bank was inspiring, fun, and a great experience. When I arrived, I came in ready and willingness to contribute to society. I knew that the work I was going to put forth was going to be extremely beneficial to the less-fortunate people and to the society. The leader of our group, explained the different ways we could donate and how one dollar can make three meals. With the donation of my time, I would be able to help feed many people who have been faced with hunger issues. Our group began to box the canned goods, while another group taped the boxes. It was amazing how many young people, like myself, came together to make society better for others. The experience was great, I was able to help make over four hundred meals, just by boxing canned goods.
