Academics
I'm a senior at Rosati-Kain High School, a college prep institution, and I:
- Maintain a GPA of 3.8/4, while taking challenging courses, such as Physics, Chemistry, AP Calculus, College Credit English Composition, Anatomy, Spanish 5
- Am a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society
At the end of my freshman year, I had a GPA of 3.6. To achieve my goal of becoming an adolescent psychiatrist, I realized my grades needed to improve. I focused on always completing my homework and studying in a timely manner. I participate in study groups with classmates. In these groups, I am sometimes the recipient of help, and sometimes the giver. In either case, I improve my knowledge in the subject.
Athletics
Athletics have always been an important part of my life. In elementary school, I played every sport I possibly could – volleyball, track, soccer, softball, and basketball.
In high school, I played field hockey for four years, earning two JV letters and two Varsity letters. In my senior year, I received my team’s Golden Stick award, given for team leadership and for setting a positive example for younger players. I also ran track for two years, and played basketball as a freshman. I am a recreational runner and am training for a half marathon. Encouraging my ten year old sister in her running gives me a lot of satisfaction. I sometimes run with her, and I accompanied her on her Girls on the Run 5K the past two years.
