Not only have I maintained straight A's since 8th grade, I've had perfect attendance since the 2nd grade as well. First offered to me in 11th grade, I'll have taken 9 AP tests by the end of 12th grade. I have also been recognized by the College Board as an AP Scholar with Honor, which I've received for taking at least 4 AP exams and achieving an average score of at least 3.25. I also scored a 30 Composite on the ACT. I have a 4.0 GPA. I'm the President of the National Honor Society at my school, and I'm also ranked 2 out of 684 students. I am a Dual Credit student, and I've taken/am currently taking courses such as Business Information Management and Chemistry II. I'm proud to be one of 2 girls who are taking AP Calculus BC this year, which is the highest level course offered at my school.
Faith
I am currently a member of the St. Mary Magdalene Confirmation Team. I will be helping out my church during the Confirmation sacrament process by designing decor related to the various lessons that students learn about, such as the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit. I will also be singing in the youth band at every weekly session as well as the 3-day Confirmation retreat in February. I also sing with the band, named Second Power, at Mass every Sunday at 5 p.m. We recently held a Christmas concert for church-goers to sit and relax while waiting for Christmas Eve Mass to begin. In addition to this, I was also a catechist aide for the 6th grade section during St. Mary Magdalene's Summer CCE Program. I helped the adult catechists by leading lesson activities, prayers, and Bible discussions.
Arts
I first discovered my love for singing in 5th grade, when I auditioned and was chosen to be part of the Aldine Children's Honor Choir. During middle school, I was part of the Show Choir and sang at many places, including a nursery home during the Christmas holidays. I was chosen for the TMEA All-Region Choir four times. I recently placed 5th chair in my section as a second soprano and was chosen for the Mixed Choir, the highest ranked choir in Region. I am also a soprano in the Chamber Choir, the highest ranked choir at my school. The Nimitz Chamber Choir was recently featured on the local news for singing cheerful holiday tunes at Bush Airport. I also sing for Second Power, a youth band, at Mass every Sunday. I enjoy singing in many different languages, including Japanese and Russian.
