I have been a member of the MHS Track and Field distance team since my freshman year of high school. My favorite event is the 1600 meter race(1 mile), and my personal record is 5:49. After falling in love with the sport as well as the people involved, I decided to do Cross Country. In cross country, girls in the state of Kansas currently run a 4k. My personal record is 16:36. I was voted team captain for the MHS Cross Country team my junior and senior years. I was also given the chief leadership award at the end of the year banquet, which recognizes outstanding individuals who have shown outstanding leadership to their teammates.
Academics
I have been an academic honor roll student since my freshman year of high school. I've maintained an unweighted 4.00 GPA and am currently ranked 1st in my graduating class. I am currently in the process of completing 2 AP Classes: AP Literature and Composition and AP Government. I am also a member of the National Honor Society, a nation-wide program that recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement. Even when I was little, I always viewed school as my first priority, because I believe that education is the key to success.
