ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have been on high honor roll throughout my total school experience. I participated in and passed the AP US history course last year. I am currently enrolled in three college courses at my school, College Chemistry, College Calculus, and Syracuse University Project Advanced English. I scored a 28 on my ACT and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I received the LeMoyne College Heights award, RIT computing medal, and Ad Altioria achievement award. I have been selected for the National Honor Society, Mathletics Team, and Science Olympiad Team.
Arts
Music has been one of the most influential aspects of my life. It has opened up doors for me to places that I would have never imagined. I have been playing violin for eight years now, and learning originally by ear (without music), have found it easy to learn/play several other instruments including piano, mandolin, guitar, bass, viola, and cello. With this musical ability, I have achieved high honors on my violin, participating in NYSSMA festivals, Area Allstate, All County, String quartets, Select string Ensembles, Selection for the Syracuse Youth Orchestra, and my recent nomination for the American Music Abroad Program where I will travel with an orchestra to play in Europe this coming summer. Music serves as a way for me to express myself and share emotion with others.
Other Achievements
As a very well rounded student and individual, I balance extracurricular activities with community service. I participate in Varsity Soccer, Science Olympiad, National Honor Society, Mathletics, Jazz Band, String Ensemble, Orchestra, Leadership Team, Pit band for musicals, Syracuse Symphony Youth orchestra, etc.. My free periods in my school schedule (lunch periods) are spent as a chemistry lab assistant. I am the treasurer concert mistress of our school orchestra, and serve as the vice president of our senior class. I am a Tri-Valley league all star and won a league title in 2010 for soccer. I participate in Relay for life, play violin for the sick in the hospital, for the elderly, and at St. John's Catholic Church. I volunteer for Cluster 13 and ring the Salvation Army bell.
