ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I strive for excellence and have taken many rigorous courses. I have taken honors classes across the board including math, science, english, history, foreign language and agriculture. Even taking these hard classes I have maintained a 4.2 GPA., and been on the honor roll my whole life. I have a 28 on my ACT and hope to enter college as a sophomore with the hours I have earned through concurrent credit. I not only make the good grades, but I am involved as well. I will compete in a spanish competition and have competed in speaking competitions. Also, I am involved in FFA and compete in CDE events. My favorite is Parliamentary Procedure. You simulate an actual meeting and must use Roberts Rules of order correctly in order to win the competition.
Government
I believe that government is very important and I try to get students in my school excited for politics as I am. Who we elect today, will determine our rules for tomorrow. At my school though, we do not have that many programs targeting government. My junior year though I worked to get a team together to compete at Arkansas Student Congress. This is a simulation of Congress and student are scored on how well they speak. This is what fired me up about politics. Also, with this being an election year, in our practices, we discussed politics and bills, and how they will effect the people. Because of my leadership in these new programs in started, I was chosen to go to Girls State, where I fell even more in love with government, and was able to encourage others about our local government.
Faith
The past two years I have been a leader for our bible study at school. This year though, I really stepped up and am coordinator of all of it. Each week I plan lessons to share to the girls. My favorite part about this though, is that each girl believes a little differently and their denominations are all different, so the girls are able to share their faith, and each one of us, myself included, are able to understand each denomination a bit differently. Also, later on this year we plan on sharing our faith, and that we are called to love, and help the poor, by helping underprivileged children in our community, by donating gifts and foods. Also, we plan on throwing a baby shower for the pregnant girls in our school, because we know that it must hard getting prepared for a new life.
