Academics
I am currently valedictorian of my senior class with a 101.5 GPA. This semester I have three AP Classes. I am Class of 2013 Vice President , Choir President and National Honor Society President. I have been on Honor Roll my entire high school career and am a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. I was a participant in the Future Leaders of York program 2011/12. I was nominated for they Hugh O'Brain Youth Leadership Program. I am also a Link Crew leader, tutor, and member of Student Council. I have never received lower than a B on my report card and that occurred for the first time last year. Last year I participated in the York County Distinguished Young Women's Program and was a finalist based on my grades, interview, athletic ability, talent, and self expression speech.
Arts
As an involved student, the arts are very important to me. As a sophomore I was able to audition and be apart of the school's select chorale ensemble known as Renaissance. I was 1 of 20 selected to be apart of the group. I am also a member of women's choir, concert choir, concert band, and symphonic band. This year I was selected to be the singer for Dominants(Jazz Band). I was Drum Major for two years. Last year the Dover Eagle Marching band performed and Renaissance sang in Hawaii for the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor. I participated in our school musical Joseph and will be the lead (Ariel) in Footloose this year. I was a member of the York County Junior & Senior Honors Choirs. I was selected 1of 40 to be in both Synergy and Concorde which were the select ensembles for each choir.
Community Service
To be a well rounded student, I feel that all students should volunteer. I regularly volunteer at the Dover Food Bank with my church youth group. I also take part in the 30 hour famine each year. I have helped at the Postal Food Drive, Our Daily Bread, The Salvation Army, The York Rescue Mission, Crispus Attucks, The Lehman Center, and the Brethren Home. Last year I helped my AP Government Class raise over 600 cans of food for the local food banks. As NHS president I take part in Adopt A Highway and our schools Catch A Star program. I have done countless fundraisers for the Four Diamonds fund. I was a member of the Hope For Cope Foundation and Dance A Thon. I've helped to landscape, paint, and clean for the elderly and others throughout the community.
