ATTRIBUTES
Community Service
I am not only the branch leader of the Philanthropy Service group at my high school, but also I have traveled to Tibet with my own money to help build a water shelter for orphans. Recently, I have had many fundraisers, and created a GO campaign, to continue my efforts in Tibet. I am planning on working thoughout the school year to earn money to go back to Tibet this summer. I am planning on putting in a new sewage system and finding a nanny/teacher that will help these orphaned monks recieve a better education to help them compete in the competitive world. I aspire to combine my service, sport, and academic backgrounds in Tibet. In addition to my Tibet and philanthropy efforts, I do the high way clean ups, local holiday bell rings, and human society volunteer work as ofter as I can.
Academics
I am a student who goes to school every day because I enjoy my academics and I am inspired to discover something new. As a result I have a 4.14 GPA, and I am currently enrolled in 3 AP classes. Last year I completed 3 AP classes and I recieved an AP Scholar Award. Attending school give me the opportunity to learn and find what I am passionate about. As a result of my industriousness and enthusiasm for each subject, I have received 2 Excellent Awards of Sciences, 2 Excelled Awards of History, 1 Excellent Award of English, and 1 Excellent Award of Spanish. I have joined Bio-Research Club and conducted experiments on the effects of computer radiation on human DNA synthesis. Currently, I am doing research on the effects of nutrition on cell growth. I also tutor a 3rd grader in the sciences.
Athletics
Growing up in Vail Colorado, being active has always been a part of my life. I have skied since I was two, and I am ranked one of the top high school telemark skiers in Colorado. In addition to skiing, I have a passion for volleyball. I have played volleyball since 6th grade and have been nominated captain each year. Volleyball has taught me how to balance my time, be industrious toward my goals, led people to be successful both on and off the court. Thankful to be on varsity since freshman year, I have experienced what it takes to be successful. As a result, for my senior year we won the District Tournament and placed 2nd at the Regional Tournament. Due to my leadership and skills as a player, I have received 4 All Conference Awards, 2 All State Awards, and the 2011 Student Athlete Award.
