Academics
I have been at the top of my class for as long as I can remember. I am Valedictorian with a 102 GPA and I scored a 1920 on my SAT as well as a 33 on my ACT. I have also been recognized as an AP Scholar with Honor with a score of 5 in US Government, 4's in English Language and US History, and a 3 in Comparative Government. I was recognized as a Commended Student for National Merit Awards and I won the Scholastic Award in Delaware's Distinguished Young Women scholarship program. I received an academic nomination for Delaware's Governor's School for Excellence program. My grades have always been extremely important to me and I considered myself to be a very self-motivated individual in this regard.
Arts
I have participated in 17 main-stage productions, the Traveling Troupe and summer workshops with The Children's Theatre of Dover since I was 10. In the fall of 2007, I was initiated into the world of musical theatre as Lucy in 'You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown'. My roles with The Children's Theatre have grown to include Dorothy (2009), Annie (2010), and Nancy from 'Oliver!' (2011) I have tried my hand at directing with this organization as well. I am a four-year member of my high school choir as well as a member of Select Ensemble. I was elected Chorus President for my senior year. I am a member of the Visual and Performing Arts Gifted program and the Vice-President of the Drama Club. I have had roles such as Mammy Yokum (2010) in Li'l Abner and Blousey Brown (2012) in Bugsy Malone.
Community Service
I began volunteering the summer before 10th grade as a counselor-in-training at Sandy Hill Camp. The next summer, I put in 100 hours at that same summer camp as a Junior Counselor. I lived in a cabin with other counselors and eight 10-year-old girls and helped teach the musical theatre activity. I loved giving those young girls the same great experience that I had at the camp when I was young. I have also grown to love teaching kids about theatre. In the fall of my junior year, I student-directed (90 hrs) the Children's Theatre's production of 'Oliver!' I assisted with music and blocking rehearsals and loved introducing others to my favorite thing to do. Select Ensemble also performs for a number of community events, including our Holiday Tour of our districts' elementary schools.
