ATTRIBUTES
Government
For the past four years, I have been a student attending a High School in the birthplace of the United States of America: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Having served as Class President for four years, I have gained the confident leadership, that my graduating class has been able to distinguish itself despite decreasing enrollment and dwindling school budgets. Learning how to use leadership has truly made me the person I am today, not only well liked among my teachers, and friends but respected. I believe that the greatest satisfaction in leadership is learning to be part of a team, and I have had what I am sure will be my most cherished experiences in this role. It is for this reason I have chose to study Political Science while in College.
Arts
The Arts has made quite an impact on my life over the past four years while in High School. Having participated in the Show Show Production, and singing in the schools' choir, I can proudly say that I have out grown my shell and is now more outgoing and confident in myself. I have found myself more determined than ever before because of my performances on stage. I can honestly say, that I have actually been that kid back in middle school that would always sit in the back of the classroom and be shy to everyone, having trouble on how they would think of me as a person. Now that I have went through high school, four years later, I have truly out grew that shyness and worked my way up to the highest, well-respected Student Government position, President of the Senior Class, thanks to the Arts
Community Service
In the beginning of my High School Career, I found that one of the requirement to graduate was to complete about one hundred and sixty hours of Community Service throughout all four years. Specifically, forty hours per year. I was, however, determined to completing this requirement in my Freshman year of High school. I applied for a position in the Children's Department at the Free Library of Philadelphia. I was accepted and worked on the very first day. From Shelving the books in authors' last name alphabetical order to assisting the children with their homework, I had completed 245 hours of community service in a six month period. I worked everyday after school, Monday through Friday, 3pm-9pm.
