Academics
I am a very active student. I am participating in Running Start and currently enrolled in 15 college credits as well as two high school classes, a part time job and athletics on the side. I have earned a 3.7 cumulative GPA through high school and have earned President's honors for my college courses during 2 quarters and high honors for the other 3 that I have been enrolled at Spokane Falls Community College. I have also been an honor roll regular in my high school. I am the secretary of the NHS chapter in my high school and also the ASB vice president at the IEL center where my college classes are based. Academics have always held an important role in my life and it shows by my grades and extracurricular academic success.
Work
I am a small business owner. I started my business with my father’s supervision when I was nine years old. I began by writing a business plan, taking out loans with several grandparents, and finally purchasing products including two Shetland sheep. I make a variety of products in my business ranging from beauty products, skin and hair care products, knit goods, hand spun yarns, and soaps. I have taken my products to craft fairs over the years as well and listed them online on my easy shop. In 2006 I was invited to the University of Idaho to be a vendor at their Women’s Works craft show. I am the youngest entrepreneur to have ever been invited to this event. Business has always been a big part of my life and I hope to continue pursuing my entrepreneurial endeavors in the future.
Athletics
Cheer-leading has been a huge part of my life for 5 years now. I began when I was in 8th grade because I wanted to have something I could share an interest in with my mom. This turned into a passion quickly and I continued it into high school. I have been captain of the Republic High School Cheer Squad for 6 seasons now. Through the cheer program I have been able to further develop my leadership skills, as well as mentor many younger students through the youth cheer camps I have helped organize and coach over the years. My greatest achievement in cheer-leading is that I made the Varsity All-American cheer squad. Thru this program I have the opportunity to travel to London with roughly 300 other cheerleaders from all over the U.S. to perform in the London New Year Day Parade.
