Academics
I have a GPA of 3.932. I am an excellent student and have taken challenging classes throughout my high school career. As a sophomore the most challenging class that I took was AP Environmental Science. As a Junior I took Chemistry and Physics in the same semester, This was very challenging and I had to do my best to keep my grades up. However I learned good work ethic and study skills that will serve me well in college and in the business world. I work hard each and every day in school and try to do my best in each subject that I take. I have won multiple English, Social Studies and Mathematics student of the year awards at my high school. I was selected by my teachers for these awards.
Athletics
Athletically in school I am very involved. I play cross country, basketball and track. In cross country I was the captain of my team during my junior and senior years. I have participated in the state cross country meet four times. My highest placing was fourth. I am also a two time district cross country champion and have been selected to the all-league team once. In basketball I have played for three years and I am the captain this year. In track I have competed at the state meet in the 1600 and 3200 three years in a row and I plan to make it a fourth year. My highest placing has been 2nd in the 1600. I also placed third in the 3200. Sports are a big part of my life and I would like to continue running cross country and track in college.
Community Service
I have been very involved in my community. Through National Honor Society I have done many things. First, I have been a volunteer at the local resource center multiple times. A few times a year we go to the Booker Rest Home and interact with residents there. This is something that I truly enjoy doing and the residents love the company. I have also helped clean up the highway and been a part of making our community a cleaner and better place to live. Other community service activities that I have been a part of include; serving Thanksgiving dinner at school, raising money through World Vision for kids in Africa and participating in Relay for Life to help those who are battling cancer. Giving back to the community is something that is extremely important to me.
