ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Being the son of an intelligent, former physics professor in college, I’ve inherited a knack for mathematics and creative intelligence that is reflected through my 4.0 GPA in High school. In elementary school, I was placed in the GT (Gifted & Talented) Program for students with a creative way of thinking. Since then, I’ve been in Pre-AP classes and AP classes which have challenged my ability to think but have led to my success in school. In response to my academic achievement, I was placed in the National Honor Society. I am currently top 12% at my high school and my GPA is 102.7762.
Arts
Being born in a culturally rich society down in Bogota, Colombia, my mother soaked in the diverse arts of music and drawing/painting which I graciously inherited. In elementary school, I won an ‘Award of Excellence’ at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for drawing my water-colored painting, ‘Texas Petals’. In junior high, I expanded my artistic horizons by learning how to draw graffiti and ambigram designs. I’ve continued drawing ambigrams for pleasure ever since. In reference to my musical abilities, I first learned how to play the violin for my elementary school orchestra and later played the tuba from 6th-8th grade in junior high. I pursued my musical desires by learning how to play the drums and percussion (bongo drums, etc.).
Athletics
Being a hard worker with a strong willpower, I’ve strived to achieve success in athletics throughout my high school career. Freshman year, I participated in the diving team. By the end of the year, I was regional qualifier. I proceeded the next year by joining the soccer team for my sophomore and junior year. I also ran cross country and achieved regional qualifier status for that sport also. In college, I aspire to join the fencing team.
