Community Service
I am an active member of the FFA. Through FFA, I participate in many community service activities. Each year, I put in well over twenty hours of service to my community. Over my four years of being in FFA, I have accumulated over one hundred community service hours. Some of the activities we do are: our annual Adopt-A-Street, Change For Children, and many more. This year we were trying to add onto our long list of activities and I suggested organizing a local Family Fun Day for the families at the CrossRoads Mission. I couldn't be more excited to put on this event for the children of Yuma that could use a little extra fun.
Academics
I have always done fairly well when it comes to school. Throughout my twelve years of schooling, I have had the opportunity to challenge myself with honors and accelerated courses. I enjoy the challenge that these classes give me because it makes me drive to do the best I can. In May of 2012, I was awarded the Scholastic Award at the Yuma FFA Banquet. I try hard to maintain good grades, although sometimes they slip through. No matter how difficult something is, I stick it out and try to do better. I often help my peers when they need my assistance and they do the same for me. Throughout Junior HIgh, I recieved Principal Awards for my good grades and envolvement. I was also in the National Junior Honor Society for a year. This year, I was naominated as a Go-Getter from my school.
Work
I have had a few jobs since i first started working. My very first job, like many young adults was babysitting. I babysat for a few years until I got hired at the Southwest Arizona National Wildlife Refuge. Unfortunately, it was only a part-time job. I loved working there and it taught me many things about my home, Arizona. In June of 2012, I got a job as a lifeguard at our new water park. I worked at Waylons Water World for about five months. I loved every second of it but again, unfortunatelt,it is only a seasonal job. Fortunately, because of my hard work and reliability, I am able to work there this next season. I have always been known for my hard work and dedication. Once i put my mind to something, I put my all into it to make sure the outcome is the best it can be.
