Academics
I have been in higher level classes my whole life.I started taking high school level classes in the 7th grade. I entered high school with 3 credits already. Since the 11th grade, I have been taking International Baccalaureate classes. I am an IB Diploma candidate which means I take 6 IB classes as well as Theory of Knowledge. Also as part of the Diploma, I recently had to compose an Extended Essay which required 3400 words and about 40 hours of extensive research on my topic. I also will be taking 1 AP class next semester and took Psychology 101 last year. I am in the Top 10% of my class and have maintained a GPA above 4.0 throughout my high school career.
Athletics
I have been a dancer for 10 years. I have been dancing competitively for 5 years. I dance for Step South Dance studio in Rock Hill,South Carolina.Dance is definitely a huge part of my life. I have dance class about 6 hours a week along with some weekend practices. I am in 5 group dances and have 2 solos this year.The styles of dance I take are ballet, contemporary,muscial theater and jazz. My dance company has won several 1st overall awards and special choreography awards. My biggest accomplishment in my dance career was this past April when I won 1st overall Senior Soloist at Star Talent Dance Competition. I also won a special award and dance intensive scholarship for being a stand out performer at International Dance Challenge competition this past March.
Faith
I have been an active member of my church and youth group throughout high school. I am a member of St.Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. I have been a member of the high school youth group since I was in the 9th grade. I sang in the church choir for 4 years at our church's teen mass. This mass is specifically run by the teenagers of the church. I am currently a lead usher for the teen mass and I am a trained lector. I was confirmed to the faith in the 10th grade and had to attend several comminuty service projects and retreats to be able to recieve my confirmation. I was also a member of the Youth Leadership team which is when I helped plan youth group nights and mentor other teens in small group sessions.
