Community Service
My largest service project was when I took on remodeling a local community building. To do this I rallied volunteers and gained donations from local businesses. I transformed the building by painting, replacing some fixtures, and adding volunteerism quotes to stress the importance of volunteering in my community. I also created a 750 dollar scholarship for local high school seniors who excelled in community service.I gained this money by writing business names on the walls of the building I remodeled for a small fee. I also am involved as a Carteens teacher for 4 years, a camp counselor for 6 years, a youth cheerleading coach 4 years. I also volunteer at the local animal shelter and help with a 5K were the proceeds go to cancer research. These are just small portion of what I do year round.
Athletics
I have been involved in several sports over my high school career. My freshman year I made the Varsity Cheerleading squad, also that year I ran the 400 meter relay and the 800 meter race on the Varsity track team. I have been a Varsity cheerleader for my four years of high school, and I am the captain of the squad this year. I also am on the elite squad for GC Starz where I have done competitive cheerleading for 11 years. From a young age I have always had a love for dance. Unfortunately were I live in an Appalachian community there are limited opportunities for me to express this love. Do to this I decided to create my own dance team. It took a while to find the right choreography and the right group of girls, but I am happy to say that we should go to our first competition in January.
Academics
I have been on my school's A Honor Roll every year. I am Salutatorian of my class of 125 and have taken all AP and honors courses available to me at my high school. I am currently a Post Secondary Options student at the University of Rio Grande were I have a 4.0 GPA. My ACT composite score is 26 with my highest category being Reading with a 30. I am also a 10 year winner of the Academic Excellence Foundation award. I was selected to be the History Day Drama National alternate for Ohio my freshman year. For my school I was selected as a HOBY Ambassador and a Regional Scholar due to my academics and leadership skills. Also due to my GPA I have been able to join two exclusive academic clubs at school such as the BETA Club and National Honor Society where I am currently serving as Secretary.
