ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I am a senior in high school and have been an honor roll student since the 7th grade. I have been a member of the National Honor Society each school year. In this time I maintained a minimum of 3.8 GPA through 4 concurrent enrollment classes, through Weber Sate University, one AP class, and a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) program. I am currently signed up to take 3 more concurrent enrollment classes. I received an ACT score of 23 and am still working to improve. With this schedule I have been a part of Student Government, musical theater, athletics, and have still been able to focus on my education. I was recently accepted to Utah State University and plan to be involved and focused on my education there as well to pursue my career in the Medical Field.
Community Service
For the past 4 years I have been highly involved in my community. I have been a member of my city's Youth City Council for 4 years, planning and carrying out various activities for the city. I am currently serving as a member and will be for 6 more months until after graduation. I also was a member of our community's Youth Guild of the Arts. In these volunteer experiences I have learned the values of leadership and service. I have been able to serve my community, be with some of my friends, and have a good time. I have grown to love serving the people around me, from a Senior citizen dinner to a Christmas party face painting for children. I will look back at these great experiences and take them with me for life.
Faith
I have been involved in many youth groups for 5 years. I have been the Laurel class President, my age group for my church, for 2 years. I am serving in that position as well as a member of my Stake Youth Council. I've planned and participated in various activities from a large musical production involving hundreds of youth to a simple art service project for a children's hospital. I was so blessed to go on a Humanitarian trip to Fiji. I went for 3 weeks to build bathrooms for a village. To pay for this trip I got a job, a year in advance, and worked as hard as I could to fund raise. In this experience I was able to learn and grow in my work ethic. I was working and serving all day everyday. This was one of the most rewarding and most cherishing experiences that I will never forget.
