Arts
I have been enrolled in art classes in school every year from 7th to 12th grade. I have won various first place ribbons for my art, and i specialize in pencil, pen, and paint. in 11th grade I had my art work put up in a gallery, and two of my pieces were bought. In 9th grade, i made a 3D art piece of a mask that got awarded 1st place. in 11th grade i had a few pieces entered into the art symposium. I won a second place ribbon and a couple of third and fourth place ribbons. Every year that i have taken art in school i have gotten at least an A in the class, and i spend most of my time outside of school working on art pieces.
Academics
I am currently a senior in high school. I have been to three middle schools, and three high schools. I move a lot because i switched between living with my mother and my father. Even with moving around high schools, i managed to keep my cumulative GPA at a 3.5. I have taken three AP (college level) courses, AP Biology, AP art, and AP calculus AB. I finished AP Biology and AP Art with A's, and i am currently enrolled in AP Calculus AB. I always try to get A's in all of my classes, and i am motivated to get all of my work turned in on time. When i am asked to write essays, I usually start them early and give a rough draft along with my final, even if it is not asked for. My peers often come to me when they need help on their homework or with studying for a test.
Work
I first started working in Virginia when i was 15 years old. I became certified in CPR, Lifeguarding, and baby CPR in order to work as a lifeguard. I worked at the Bradley Farm Private Pool in Herndon VA. it was a summer job, and I worked anywhere from 20- 30 hours a week. When I turned 16, i started working at McDonalds as a part time employee. During the summer i worked anywhere from 30-40 a week. I stayed with the job once school started, and switched to a less busy schedule; working only 15-20 hours a week. I am 17 now and I still hold the same job at McDonalds. Since i have started working there, I have gotten two raises: moving my pay up from 7.50 to 8.00 an hour, and am expecting another raise in early January 2013.
