ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Academics has always been my main focus in school. I am a junior in high school and I have taken 9 honors courses (3 of which I am currently taking as well as an AP US History). I truly love learning, which is what I believe helps me achieve my excellent grades the most. I received my first "straight A" report card in second grade, and since then I have never accepted less of myself. I'm a very responsible student, I literally can't go to sleep with out completing my homework or studying for the next day. Lastly, I'm a very active student in class, always asking questions and helping others when I can. I hope to attend Boston University for a combined Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Doctor of Physical Therapy in a 6 year accelerated program.
Athletics
Athletics is another very important attribute in my life. I don't know how I would function without sports. I genuinely love all sports which is why I could never choose just one. I chose to play many different sports and focus more on my academics for my future, but that has not dimmed my love for sports. I have played basketball since I was 10 years old, soccer since I was 13, softball from ages 12-15, and recently started track and field. My love and commitment for sports has also earned me captain for basketball since I was a sophomore and soccer junior year. I also enjoy biking, skiing, canoeing, and hiking outside of school. Although I do not plan to pursue a sport in college, I plan to be right there on the sidelines taking care of people with my major in athletic training.
Community Service
I did not realize the importance of community service until my freshmen year of high school. But not I cannot imagine high school with out the hours of volunteering. Volunteers make the world go round. I have earned over 50 hours of community service just for tasks through out my high school. I have also volunteered at my local historical society, for several senior citizen events through my local Rotary, and as well as volunteering at the local elementary school. I am co-president of the Interact, community service, group at my school. I have recently been recognized for my community service ( as well as other attributes ) by being inducted into my schools National Honor Society. Through other school groups like FBLA and student council, I serve the community as well.
