ATTRIBUTES
Government
As a lead speaker and debater for our debate club, I am nationally ranked in multiple events. I recently helped organize our state's tournament and helped direct the tournament. I also am working on beginning a mock trial team for our school. With an internship in a law office, I've had a unique opportunity to learn more about our state and federal government and court system. I've learned to love and have a passion for the law from multiple trips to our nation's capital, as well as multiple campaigning trips to work on various campaigns throughout the country. I've also been president for two years with our local Generation Joshua Club, which is a civics club advocating political activism in teens and college students. I have taken AP US Government, AP US History, and AP Economics.
Community Service
I have worked as a volunteer at our local Pregnancy Resource Center for years, accumulating over 500 hours of work there. Recently I took a larger role there, becoming a speaker for their teen pregnancy prevention program. I have worked with HopeKids, an organization that seeks to help families that have children facing life-threatening diseases. I've been a helper at our church, working in the nursery and kitchen regularly. I've also been active as a teacher in an after-school club for elementary school kids for the past three years.
Academics
With a love for learning, I have found that the best way to get a great education is to challenge myself academically. I've been taking high school level courses since 7th grade, and in high school I have taken many AP Classes, ranging from AP Government and History to AP Economics and AP Calculus. I've been taking dual-enrollment classes the past two years through the college that I am planning on attending when I graduate. I've always been active in many extra-curricular activities, and have also served in cabinet roles in our Pi Mu Honor Society. I also participate in our Utah Youth Symphony, and have been active in learning about music since I was 5.
