ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I am the Salutatorian at my high school, in the National Honor Society, and I work extremely hard to earn the superior grades that I do. In addition to taking more high school courses necessary to graduate, I also take dual credit classes. (Dual credit classes are college courses taken while the student is still in high school.) I have taken dual credit classes since my junior year, and I have excelled at each one. In addition to dual credit classes, I have also taken all Pre-AP and AP classes that my high school offers. I put in a lot of hard work, including long study hours, countless homework assignments, and extensive research for projects. By the time I graduate high school, I will graduate as salutatorian, with honors, and with thirty-eight college hours.
Community Service
I am very active in my community. I love volunteering, and I have outstanding community service hours for various organizations. I volunteer frequently at my local church. I am an altar server with 240 hours of service, a lector with another 240 hours of service, and a Sunday School teacher’s aide with 130 hours of service. I also help at the church’s annual jubilee. At school, I am part of of program where football players read to the elementary kids. I also help at the Relay for Life event, and I earned twenty hours. I helped at the HEB Feast of Sharing, with my community’s youth basketball team, and with the school’s annual K-Mart Kid’s Christmas shop, which I have 8, 130, and 192 hours respectively. I directed a supply drive for the local youth shelter, with took 12 hours.
Faith
I am a proud practicing Catholic who goes to Odem Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. I do everything I can to help my church. Ever since third grade, I have been an altar server. An altar server assists the priest during mass, and makes sure that the mass runs smoothly. I am a senior in high school now, and I still absolutely love altar serving. I am now a Mass Coordinator, which is the highest rank a server can receive, and which also means that I am the leader of my team. I recently received my Ten Year Cross, which a server receives for ten or more years of service. I also received the Outstanding Altar Server award. I am also a lector, and I have been since second grade. I also help at the church’s annual jubilee, and I have been a Sunday School teacher’s aide since my freshman year.
