ATTRIBUTES
Academics
Throughout my high school career, I have involved myself in a plethora of difficult classes, adding up to 10 advanced/AP classes total. Despite the difficulty of these classes, I have managed to maintain a GPA of at least 3.8 and receive all As during my sophomore, junior, and (so far) senior year. These good grades have landed me a spot on the honor roll at my school every single semester since the 8th grade. I have also performed very well on all of my standardized tests taken during high school. I earned a score of 32 on my ACT and placed in the "advanced" category in every subject on the South Dakota Step Test.
Athletics
I am extremely passionate about competitive cheerleading, and I love to spend as much time as possible bettering myself at it. I spend up to 20 hours a week practicing tumbling, stunting and jumping. Being a nationally competitive, my team travels all across the country and earned 2nd place in the nation last year in Dallas, Texas. Next year, I plan to achieve one of my biggest aspirations in life by cheering for the Gophers at The University of Minnesota. I am also involved in Track and Field, and this means that during the spring I spend about 30 hours (instead of 20) practicing sports. Sports have taught me a tremendous amount about leadership and hard work, and I would not be where I am today without them.
Community Service
I have involved myself in multiple community service organizations throughout the past few years. Since 9th grade, I have helped out with the special olympics track and field and swimming events every summer by setting up, keeping stats, and providing encouragement. I also coached the special olympics bowling team last year and have coached the special needs cheerleading team at my gym for 2 years. I have junior coached children at my gym for 2 years as well. I am a registered volunteer for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization and I participate in their events by cheering on survivors at the start and finish lines. Lastly, my cheerleading team and I do many projects every year ranging from raking the yards of the elderly every fall and making blankets for the children's hospital.
