Community Service
Throughout high school I have actively participated in volunteering for my school, and church community. I have attended the Catholic Heart Work Camp mission trip for the past three years. This is a week where you dedicate your time to helping others who are less fortunate. I have volunteered working at Catholic Charities helping in any way I can. I also have gone to many nursing homes, playing Bingo with the elderly or just to keep them company. I have attended Relay for Life and Rally for Babies to raise money for cancer survivors and unborn babies. I have been a tour guide for my school's open house, to promote the great Catholic Education and family community our school provides. I am an active member of my Church's youth group participating in many service projects for the Church.
Government
In my Sophomore year I became a part of Student Government as class Secretary. In my Junior year I wanted to further my government leadership, so not only was I Secretary for my class, but I was also Secretary for the Student Council. This meant that not only was I taking the minutes for our class meetings, but the general meetings with the other grades as well. For my Senior year, I am Secretary for my class, the council, and taking it a step further, I am also Secretary/Treasurer of our District Council. Being Secretary/Treasurer of the District gives me the opportunity to further my leadership skills and work with other students from schools around Gainesville to learn new ideas of how we can improve our student government.
