Academics
I am a logical thinker with an introverted personality. Academics allows me to connect with others and excel. I scored a 31 on the ACT and 2010 on my SAT. I have been on the Superintendet Honor Roll since 4th grade. I am an AP Scholar and successfully scored a 4 on US History, 5 on Eng. Language/Comp, and a 3 on Biology on the AP exams. I received the Highest Average Awards in Biology, Physical Science, PSAT Language, PSAT Mathematics, Food Design, and Chemistry. I am a member of Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta Vice President . I am secretary of the Student Council and was secretary for my Junior Class. I am a member of the Spanish Honor Society and am currently serving as the Senior Class Secretary. I received the Scholar Athlete and Most Improved Player Awards for Volleyball.
Community Service
I am proud to say community service is an important part of my life. School affords me many opportunities to give back to my community. I helped set up and participate in Pirate Palooza which brings the community and the school together in support of school efforts. For the past 4 years I have worked the Fall Festival at the Elementary School and unloaded pumpkins for the annual Trinity Pumpkin Patch. Being involved in school organization also encourages us to give of our personal time like my volunteering each year at the city sponsored Christmas in the Pass and Nursing Home visits. I also planted trees in the city to help replace the lost trees from hurricane Katrina. I currently volunteer at our local library and volunteered with the their summer program earning over 120 hours.
Faith
My faith guides me. I am a member of Our Mother of Mercy church and the Junior Daughters. Giving back and helping others is a large part of what we do. I am in the CYO and was voted secretary and Vice President on the local level for the Junior Daughters. On the regional level I was voted Mistress-at-Arms and proudly bestowed the title of Junior Daughter of the Year for our region. My participation in church and these church related organizations affords me the opportunity to attend bi-annual nursing home visits and present gifts to the elderly. As members we do monthly church clean up, beach cleanup, and work the annual 3 day Bazaar. On occasion we are able to participate in special events like Walks for Health, Relay for Life, Blood Drives and the Special Olympics sponsor by NASA.
