ATTRIBUTES
Government
I have served 3 years as a class senator in my student government. I have made many efforts to fill the gap between the student government and the student body. I took the intuitive to create a student government facebook page for the school to like, so they could connect to what is happening in the student government. I have served on the student faculty committee for 3 years. On this committee, I partook on the changing of the cell phone policy and hallway traffic rules. I was personally in charge of getting trashcans in the hallways and trying to have the school bathrooms improved. Right now my project is trying to get the whole school to use our new Google system. I am head of the Google committee that is trying to have students embrace the use of our new Google accounts.
Work
I have worked many places over the past few years. Right now I am on my second year of being a teacher at my religious school. Every Sunday, I teach 3rd and 4th graders about being Jewish and certain holidays. Over the summer, I worked at a summer camp where I was a counselor to 2nd grade and 3rd grade boys for 8 weeks. This camp was every day, for 6 hours. After camp ended, I began a job at a after school daycare. This daycare has many of the same kids I met at the summer camp. Aside from those jobs with kids, I also manage doctors offices facebook pages. This connects the doctor and patients through the use of social media.

Community Service
I am very active in my community. I am a West Hartford Police Explorer. Through the police department i help the town with traffic details. On these traffic assignments, I am in charge of controlling traffic and keeping the public safe. I also have volunteered at a local nursing home. I have been doing this since 5th grade. I visit with some of the elderly patients and talk to them. This is really interesting because I found out things about the past I never knew. During the spring, I volunteer to coach my sisters softball team. My dad becomes the head coach, I am the team manager and my sister is a player. The best part of managing the team is when the parents tell me how much they appreciate my work because it makes it easier for them. Police Reference: James Mahon- jmahon287@gmail.com
