ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have chosen the most rigorous course-load possible by taking eight honors, three AP, and six dual-credit courses in high school while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and three part-time jobs. My chosen courses exceed the state's requirements for an academic honors degree. I am also enrolled in Psychology 101 via an online class offered by Ivy Tech State College. I have been an honor roll student every grading period since sixth grade. I was inducted into the National Honor Society, I am Senior Class President, I scored 2020 on the SAT, and I am ranked first in my class of 320 students.
Arts
I am a section leader and an elected officer in an 80-member advanced concert choir. I am also in a 16-member women's choir and a varsity mixed choir, both of which are very competitive invitation-only choirs. I was made editor of the high school yearbook in my junior year and the book produced that year won international recognition for excellence in design. I designed the complete promotional packages, including posters, t-shirts, tickets, and program, for the school's fall play and spring musical in my senior year. I was stage manager for the semi-annual productions in ninth, tenth, and twelfth grades and a cast member in the productions in eleventh grade.
Faith
I have a passionate heart for serving others because I believe that is how we best show God our love for Him. I serve as the worship leader for our youth group praise band which has grown from three to eight members in less than six months. I helped start a high-school girls' bible study which now includes members from outside the congregation. I volunteer monthly in the church nursery and I provide graphic design services for several church outreach programs. I was blessed to be able to go to Guatemala during spring break in 2011 where we built a playground and a feeding clinic. I am looking forward to returning to Guatemala with a mission team in May 2013.
