I have earned a 4.0 GPA (and 4.77 weighted GPA) all throughout my high school career and I currently have a 5.0 weighted GPA. I have taken three Advanced Placement classes. I scored a 4 on AP US History, a 4 on AP US Government, and a 5 on AP French. I also took the SAT French with Listening and earned a 770 out of 800. In addition, I took SAT Math 2 and received a 690 out of 800. Also, I took the ACT during my sophomore year and earned a 28 out of 36 and the SAT during my junior year and earned a 1950. Moreover, I am an International Baccalaureate candidate and plan to take the History HL, English HL, French HL, Math SL, Physics SL and Art SL tests. In addition, I'm in three honors societies: French, Math, and National and I have tutored regularly.
Athletics
I started playing volleyball my freshman year on JV but I did not get much playing time that season. Yet, I was determined to excel at volleyball because I very much enjoy the sport. The summer of 2011, I worked out and practiced with friends. The following year, I was still on JV but I was named the captain of the team. I was also a starter and Coach Somerville always showed that she can count on me. In addition, I was the setter of the team. Being the setter is like being the quarterback in football; the setter is the one who decides who will attack during that play. In the spring of 2012, I made the Co-Ed team and was again the setter. I was awarded the Most Valuable Player award for that season. This year, I made the Varsity Volleyball team and plan to continue with volleyball.
Community Service
I currently have 315 SSL Hours. I am the co-president of Eagle Ambassadors (EA; a community service organization at my school) and have been in the group since my freshmen year. Every year in EA, we organize 3 major events: 9th grade orientation (spring and fall), canned food drive, and a winter project. For the 9th grade orientation, our goal is to introduce the incoming students with the school and some of the many people that they can go to for help. The canned food drive serves to collect cans for families in need. We partner with the Germantown Help. During the winter project, we visit Christa McAuliffe Elementary School and help the kids make cards for the soldiers abroad and in hospitals in order to encourage kids to be caring and raise the spirits of soldiers during the holidays.
