Community Service
I have participated in several dozens of community service events. Considering that I'm in JROTC, I have volunteered to work with the community and have served over 100 community service hours doing various acts. I have planned community service events as well and have gotten more students to participate in our community by having them sign up for the events. I've led such events as catering events for local facilities, color guard events to present the colors at football games, I've led events where I've had students go visit elderly people in their nursing home to keep them company for the day. I've led and participated in various community service events that have contributed to the community and that have gotten more students to participate and have been doing so for the past 3 years.
Other Achievements
I've been awarded multiple awards throughout my high school experience. Being in JROTC for the past 3 years has greatly improved my abilities and I have been exemplified not only in the Unit, but my school, and my community. I have been rewarded the Military Order of World Wars for my service to my Unit, school, and community, I've been awarded for superior performance and I was also awarded the American Veterans award for my dependability, initiative, high standards, and my attitude. During the summer before my junior year, I attended Summer Leadership School in Charleston, South Carolina with several other cadets from my Unit and at the end of that week, I graduated with honors, in the honor flight, and I was awarded the flight advisors award. I intend to achieve more in the near future.
Work
I have always been a dedicated worker. Near the close of my Junior year I was hired at Chick-fil-a. I was faced with the obstacle of balancing not only school work, but JROTC work, along with chores and duties at home, as well as my actual job. Over the summer, I was able to perform my home duties, but I was able to perform my regular duties in my JROTC Unit, and work, and on top of that I was able to go on vacation. Now that senior year has started, more has been piled onto my plate, but I have been able to manage my grades, home, JROTC, and work life, without any of them interfering or effecting eachother. At the beginning of my senior year, I was also hired at another job, so for the past few months I've been managing 2 jobs, home, and AFJROTC, all while maintaining my grades.
