Community Service
Once entering high school, Community Service became an important part to staying involved in my community. At first it was just a class in school that I accumulated 4-5 hours of community service over a period of nine weeks. Then i became involved in multiple drug and abusive decision awareness programs such as ACHE, SADD and Peer Helpers. Once I established a strong base for helping my community I wanted to take my philanthropy to the next level by learning how organize events and study the preparation for community service projects. I joined a program Called YPIJC ( Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Johnson County) where the main focus is preparing students for future community service past the high school level.
Academics
On top of acquiring above a 3.5 GPA throughout my three years of high school I also challenge myself with multiple AP classes. Being on of only four people in my school to pass the AP world history exam last year. I am currently enrolled in two AP courses, AP Biology and AP U.S History. I accomplish the amount of focus and put forth an extraordinary amount of time in my academic success. I also participate in the science academic team of WCHS who have been extremely successful this past year. Although i spend a vast amount of time in clubs, volunteering, my faith and sports, Academics is my key focus.
Athletics
I am currently a track athlete of two years and a first year cross country runner. Running is my passion and it helps me stay well rounded academically. Overall I put around fifteen hours a week into bettering myself in both sports and my couches and I have seen very great improvements. I have placed varsity my first year in Cross County and varsity in track and field my second year. I plan on continuing my running career in College and continue to improve my times. Overall Athletics is the most demanding of all of my attributes because of the amount of stress and time that goes into them. But I have transgressed all expectations of my early athletic career and plan on continuing to improve.
