ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have a 3.4 unweighted GPA, and 4.8 weighted GPA. By the end of this semester I will have a 5.0+ weighted GPA. I have gotten straight A's multiple times and am applying for NHS this year. I was in NJHS in middle school. I passed AP U.S. History and received college credit last year, and I will acquire around 4 more college credits from college courses by the end of the 2012-2013 school year including: AP Psychology, AP Calculus (AB), AP Literature, and AP Macronomics. This past summer I attended Hillsborough Community College through dual enrollment, and took the course Intro to Computers (CGS1000).
Athletics
I have done 12+ years of martial arts, including Karate and Taekwondo. I am a 2nd Dan black belt under Kukkiwon in South Korea. I have competed and won gold, silver, and bronze medals in numerous competitions and state-wide competitions along with many trophies. I have been on hockey and soccer teams in City of Tampa Parks & Rec centers. I was on the Varsity track team at my school, but had to quit because I live far from my school and couldn't continue going to daily practices. I PT (physical training) with my JROTC unit once a week, and run about 3 miles daily. I am getting into shape to take a physical fitness test for both a Navy and Air Force ROTC scholarship.
Other Achievements
I have been an outstanding leader in my JROTC unit at my school for the last four years. As a freshman in high school I was already looked at to be selected for a high posiition in the unit in my future years. In my sophomore year I was chosen to be Assistant Platoon Commander, whose job is to teach roughly 15 cadets the inner working of the unit. In my junior year I was selected to be a Platoon Commander, in charge of about 30 cadets. Only 5 people were chosen to be Platoon Commander out of 140+ cadets. This year, my senior year, I have been selected as the Executive Officer of my JROTC unit, in charge of140+ cadets. As second in command of my unit, I oversee every staff job in the unit and run all of the unit's operations. I delegate authority and organize events, trips, and fundraisers.
