ATTRIBUTES
Community Service
In the summers for the past 3 years I volunteered at Wayzata Community Church Minnesota Monday-Frienday from 8-12:30. Every Year the church would organize a big rummage sale. This was to raise money for church and people in need of help. This took months and moths to get ready for and my responsibility was to organized clothing in the teen department that came from other peoples donations. During the 2 days of the sale, my responsibility was to work in the cafe area. I have made alt of friends through volunteering at this church. Also my 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th Grade I volunteered at the Orono Elementary School. I knew a teacher that i was really good friends with and she let me come in and read with her students twice a week for an hour.
Academics
I as a person have always tried my best i school. I moved to the United States 8 years ago from Moldova and the English Language is my 5th Language. I speak Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian, Moldovian and English. Knowing all these languages tough me a lot about culture and life and having it way harder then most American students I still managed to have a GPA of 3.6 and an ACT score of 28. Back home I was never given this opportunity of education and moving here and knowing I have that ability and option meant the world. I knew I had to take it and do my best at it.
Other Achievements
Moving to a new country means starting a new life over again. I moved here when I was about age 10. me being just a kid was nothing. My parents were the ones that were worried about how to support a family. So, through making some friends at school my mom and I came up with a cleaning survive. Her first customers were my friends parents. Its a little business my mom has that I have helped her accomplish. Still today she still does that. Its our living income in the house. My parents said its hard to put everything to the side and go to school when your in a new country because you have a family to support. Every day after my volunteer hours I got picked up by my mom and went to work with her. Its something I have achieved together with my mom and am very proud to say WE did it.
