ATTRIBUTES
Faith
I have been an active member of my church and youth group since the 6th grade. I am a member of the praise band and the Student Leadership Council that makes decisions for the whole youth group. I am also a leader in a Bible study group my friends started and I am leading a Bible study in my school commons with a few friends. My faith has been my source of comfort through extremely hard times and has kept me grounded when things were going swimmingly. It has also allowed me to relate to others that I normally may have never talked to and therefore broaden my horizons, as well as led me to research the viewpoints of people who share my beliefs about things that are extremely controversial today.
Arts
I have participated in two choirs in school for the last two years, one of which has many out-of-school performances. These performances include an Evensong service in the fall, a Madrigal Feaste dinner theatre in the winter, various county functions throughout the year, as well as performing an Evensong service at the National Cathedral each year. I have been a member of the choral department at my high school for four years and helped form a female a Capella group my freshman year of high school, as well as participated in church choirs. i was an active member of the Drama Department while we had one, and still do performances at church. I also blog and write stories, and have written one book (still unpublished) and have started a second one.
Academics
In academics, I have excelled as long as I have been enrolled in school. My teachers and peers consider me to be bright and have lots of potential, my peers turning to me for aid on assignments and to help them better understand the material. I was invited to become a member of the National Honor Society, which holds grades in high regard, and I received an award from the College Board for being an AP Scholar with Honor for having received a 5 on my AP Language and Composition test, as well as a 4 on AP Environmental Science and 3s on AP Human Geography and AP Unites States History. I do my best in all of my classes and strive for the best understanding I can achieve of whatever subject I may be learning.
