Faith
As a Jewish male, after completing my Bar Mitzvah service, I decided to continue on and graduated from Confirmation class. During this two-year period, we studied the basic tenets of Judais, the study of Torah, work, and Acts of Loving Kindness. Throughout this period, we learned about and read about great Jewish and non-Jewish scholars and their thoughts and wisdom. Not content with that accomplishment, I am continuing my Jewish education my enrolling in the Hebrew H.S., from which I expect to graduate this coming June. This course includes working in philanthropy, going out into the community and helping those indivuals less fortunate.
Arts
I began my love of music while in elementary school, when I joined the Drum Club, and learned how to play the bongos and congas.I became accomplished with these and was asked to perform at the local art museum by joining with a local musical ensemble. In middle school, I joined the band and learned to play the trombone, performing in the orchestra for the three years I attended. When I arrived in high school, I joined the Band, which consisted of both Marching and Concert. In the Marching season, they did not march with the trombone, so I was required to learn the Baritome, while performing on the Trombone when we were in the stands and during pep rally. We performed at several local and state competitions, earning superior ratings. I received a superior rating at FL. Bandmaster solo.
Community Service
I was brought up to believe in the guiding principles of Judaism, which includes Acts of Loving Kindness. I have made an effort to excel at this activity throughout my short life. In Hebrew school, I joined the temple choir and we performed locally for nursing and old age homes. In middle school, we established projects to feed the homeless, and donate food the the local shelters and food pantries. In Hebrew H.S., our theme is to deal with philanthropy, going out in the community and performing tasks to aid those less fortunate. In addition, several of my friends and I have begun this year to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, where we perform work on the weekends to renovate and update homes for those poor families in need of shelter and unable to perform these tasks.
