ATTRIBUTES
Community Service
For the past three summers, I have volunteered as a Lab Technician and a Teacher's Assistant for the University of California, Irvine's Gifted Student Programs. Throughout the summer I assist the instructors in planning and executing activities in various subject areas. Subjects that I have assisted and/or have taught are: Chemistry, Modern Chemistry, Marine Biology, Inventor's Workshop, Physics, and Forensic Science.
In addition to my volunteer activities during the summers, I also volunteer as a Junior Volunteer at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital in the Pediatrics/Nursery ward, helping the patients' stays more comfortable.
Academics
I have been an honor roll student ever since I was in elementary school. I skipped Kindergarten and was later placed in the Gifted and Talented Education Program in the second grade. Throughout my high school career, I have taken five honors courses and three AP classes. As a senior in high school, I am currently enrolled in one honors class and 3 other AP classes.
I am ranked number 53 out of 755 students of my class at Fountain Valley High School.
My combined SAT score is 1940, and I scored a 710 on the Molecular Biology Subject Test last year. In addition, I have scored 4's on both the AP English Literature and Composition and AP Biology test in my junior year.
Arts
Ever since the third grade, I have been a part of a string orchestra, playing the violin. In 2008, I was recognized with the Fred Moiola Scholarship to ArrowBear Music Camp.
Once I entered high school, I auditioned into Advanced Music Honors as a freshman, and have maintained that position since. I was promoted to the first violin section at the beginning of my sophomore year. Currently, I am the third stand in the first violin section.
In 2010, I was elected as Historian for my junior year. Now, as a senior, I was elected to Co-President of the Orchestra.
