ATTRIBUTES
Academics
I have a GPA of 4.1538 and have never received any grade point average below a 4.0 in any class. i challenge myself by taking intensified classes , as well as AP and IB courses when they are available to me. I have taken rigorous courses and still managed to excel in all classes. I take courses that interest me when I have available space. In 2009 I won the county wide science fair. I have passed every SOL test that I have ever taken, almost all of them being pass-advanced. I scored a 4 on my AP U.S. History exam that was taken during my junior year. I am an open minded student and all of my teachers seem to appreciate me very much.
Athletics
I am currently playing for one of the top travel soccer teams in the state of Virginia. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 and competitively since I was in the the 5th grade. I play both fall and spring seasons of travel soccer and started on the school JV team my freshman year. I played basketball for two years and ran outdoor track my sophomore year. I have ran indoor track every winter season during my high school career and am a vital member of the sprints team, of which I hope to become a captain this year. I played lacrosse for my school during my Junior year at the same time I was playing travel soccer and ran in some track meets. I manage my time well with my school work to excel in everything that I do.
Community Service
I am currently an online math tutor for the non- profit organization, Study Buddy. I have worked as a math tutor for over a year now and will continue to do so during the next school year. I am also in boy scouts and am currently planning an Eagle Scout service project. in this project I will be collecting craft supplies for a school in rural Senegal that is just opening a kindergarten program. I also participate in scouting for food and making meals for the homeless as well as collecting goods to donate to troops over seas and families in need during the holiday season. I used to feed animals at the local nature center, as well as work at children's camps there. I was nominated for volunteer of the year in my county for my work at the nature center and i wont the award in 2009.
